If, when creating rules, fields are missing on the lookup option or there is a "Record not Found" error message when trying to add the field, this is probably a disconnect between the primary file of your rule and the pointer file/fields in question.

To fix this, check RDEL for the pointer file/field. In the screen shot below, we were having difficulty linking the TA.ACYR file to the INSTA.TRANSCRIPT.TYPE field on the INSTITUTION.ATTEND file. The pointer file for these two was the X.TA.INSTITUTION.ATTEND file.

The solution was to go to RDEL for the X.TA.INSTITUTION.ATTEND file and double check that the Secondary Pointer/File field had the appropriate information listed in the multi-value field. I did this by confirming with the System Office these were accurate.

Once they confirmed, we had to delete out the 2 things entered in that field, re-add them back in, save out, log out of Colleague, and come back in. When we went to the same rule then, the INSTA.TRANSCRIPT.TYPE field and two others were now available for use.
